    Freelance translator, house/pet sitter.

EN-DE/DE-EN translator and proofreader with over eight years experience and specializing in Travel/Tourism * Hospitality * Health * Literature/Fiction * Animals/Pets * General.
I grew up speaking German and English and graduated with top grades in both language classes. After attending and successfully completing a course in creative writing, I had several opportunities to translate novels and short stories (contemporary, suspense/crime, drama, romance, comedy and paranormal preferred).
In addition to the mentioned fields, I translate website content, blog articles, legal documents, press releases, audio/video courses and software applications. I'm also a qualified translator for a few agencies, working on an as-needed basis.
Whether the source text is a travel destination or a fictional story in EN or DE - my goal is always to deliver a natural, authentic translation and at the same time to keep the meaning and "feel" of the original text.
I love to travel, I enjoy taking a break now and then and step into a fictional reality by reading a good book - and I can't imagine not having pets in my life.

    Vorstellung:

Born in the USA, I grew up bilingual in Germany and the United States. I started working as an interpreter for the press at international sporting events back in 2001 and have since then become a full-time translator/interpreter/writer. I have translated everything from legal documents to cook books to documentaries.
I have a Master of Science degree and spent many years working as a software engineer. In February 2015 I became an ATA certified translator from German into English.
When not working I love to travel and explore new things, anything from photography to entrepreneurship, home remodeling to making truffles. I believe as a translator and interpreter you should never stop learning and expanding your knowledge base. You never know what subject will come up in conversation.

    Hello,
my name is Bente, I'm 31 years old, was born in Denmark to an Austrian mother and a Japanese father, grew up in Germany and maybe because of this international background have always been drawn to languages. Throughout my youth I tried to master East Asian languages, spent one year in Japan, South Korea and China each and as a result speak Korean fluently, Japanese pretty solidly and also daily conversational Chinese.
But I don't only speak those languages, I can actually write all characters I can speak, too :>
I have work experience in international trade but especially South Korean overseas trade and investment. I also have experience translating English technical manuals into German, documents from Korean to English and German, as well as interpreting and promoting in several languages during events and exhibitions and many other fun language things. :)

I am recently travelling South Korea (again), this time I finished a trip around and accross Korea by bike and am planning to do the same in Japan soon. That is why I chose to work from my computer, translating for you!

    Hello,

I am 24 years old and currently doing my master on energy and process systems engineering in Berlin. German is my mother tongue and passion as well. Throughout my former education I have been taking several elevated language courses to deepen my understanding of literature and the underlying general methodology. Taking part in a field of studies with an international focus a part of my modules is taught in English. Within the context of globalization and an advancing digitalisation I regard profound English skills as being one key factor for my professional career and am therefore keen on holding them on a very high level. I want to thank the hosting website and former clients for their trust. All assignments so far have been completed receiving a high quality rating for the translation.

    Kind regards,
    Dennis Schütte

I'm a freelance translator with mother tongue German but have lived and worked in the UK for over 8 years now and am as good as bilingual.
I used to work in the film industry for over 10 years and in the software industry for over 3 years gaining lots of knowledge in specific terms and phrases regarding contracts, other legal papers as well as product descriptions and user manuals as well as scripts and marketing papers.
I love languages and am currently brushing up my Spanish and Italian.
