"Vision without action is a daydream."

PHP, Javascript, Flash -- you name it. Back in middle school, I could code anything behind my back and blindfolded. My future looked positive except for one major detail: Would I ever go outside?

Up until high school, my visions of traveling the world and having new experiences seemed exactly that -- just daydreams. I wondered if there was a way to change all that. Thankfully, my first Chinese class gave me the answer I so desperately needed: the goal to work as a simultaneous interpreter.

That single thought has sent my life veering down a radically different path ever since. On my way to earning a B.A. in Chinese and minor in Russian Language and Literature, I've found myself giving business presentations in Chinese, competing on televised competitions, duking it out with Georgians, and bathing in pools of skin-nibbling fish. I've even been a part of Taiwan street culture and have visited more Chinese cities than I can count on fingers.

For the past year and a half, I have been a Translator & Assistant Editor for the Chinese-English culture magazine [FROMzine源]. I have also completed translation contracts for Multilingual Solutions and other clients. Military strategy books, wrestling show subtitles, poetry and marketing materials are just a few of the projects I've worked on in the past.
