Born and raised in Chicago, I earned two Bachelor's Degrees at UIC (History of Art, Architecture and Urban Planning and Psychology) in 1982. I worked for many years in the print production industry in all phases, from copywriting and revising to page layout and advertising. I moved to Italy in 1989 and earned a degree in Art Restoration from L'Istituto per l'Arte e il Restauro in Florence, and besides being a freelance translator, I restore paintings and wooden sculptures under tutelage of the Fine Arts Ministry. I have collaborated on many of the educational and tourist programs sponsored by the province I live in. I have taught English at all levels and have organised conferences and public speaking events.
I have collaborated with several sites as translator. Together with other professional translators around the world, I founded a translations collective that works on a voluntary basis and focuses on Human Rights (Tlaxcala). Our work is diffused on our own site and in many online and print media organs.
