Born and raised in multicultural San Francisco, I was exposed to many languages as a child. In secondary school, I lived in Paraguay as an exchange student.
I have worked on both sides of the bilateral relationship between Brazil and the US, first at the US Embassy in Brasília and more recently as the first American to work for the Brazilian Army Commission—where I had the privilege of being the first foreigner to take a course at the Escola Nacional de Administração Pública. While working for the Brazilian government I provided simultaneous interpretation between high level Brazilian army officers and delegations from the Pentagon and translated government contracts.
In addition, I have experience in translating marketing materials and websites.
Through my studies and work experience I have significant knowledge in the field of international economic law (WTO, customs requirements), IT (computer repair, instruction manuals), as well as gastronomy (wine, cheese, haute cuisine).
I am currently finishing my master's degree at the Institut des hautes études internationales et du développement in Geneva and will be relocating to Brazil shortly.
