Rafael Elorduy, 42, has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Baja California, Mexico, where he was awarded the scholar merit medal for being the best student of his generation.

Mr Elorduy won a scholarship from the Mexican Government through CONACYT and obtained his Master of Science degree from the University of Bristol in England with a dissertation on systems engineering and philosophy of engineering in sustainable cities.

He was a Professor of systems engineering and construction administration at the University of Baja California, Mexico.

On the public sector, Mr Elorduy was Director of organizational development at the City of Mexicali, Mexico and Director of foreign affairs and international projects for the State Government of Baja California, Mexico. He led a team of experts that brought the first SENTRI lane (express border crossing) between Mexicali, México and Calexico, California, among other bi national projects.

On the private sector, Mr Elorduy participated in local firms as a structural designer and in BANAMEX (Banco Nacional de México) he worked as analyst and field supervisor of mortgage risks.

He started his work in URBI, one of Mexico´s largest home developers, listed on the Mexican stock exchange (BMV) in 2006 having designed and participated in projects directed to the low-income market without social housing benefits and the promotion of subsidies and special credits and mortgages for URBI´s clients.

Today he is URBI´s Director of mortgage business and institutional relations and his main responsibility is to maintain and promote URBI´s productive relationships with Banks, private and government financial institutions.

Mr. Elorduy also is a representative and council member of Mexico´s Chamber of Housing Developers (CANADEVI) and a former representative to INFONAVIT´s (Mexico´s largest mortgage provider) General Assembly

Rafael and his wife Monica have 3 children and reside in Mexicali, Baja California, México.
